An unforgettable evening of adrenaline and entertainment is coming to the college rodeo scene as Professional Bull Riders (PBR) and Learfield College Rodeo announced today complete details for the inaugural Collegiate All-Star Rodeo, a groundbreaking new Western Sports event that debuts during Bulls & Beats, PBR’s season-opening event at Colorado State University’s Canvas Stadium July 10-12.
Kicking off Bulls & Beats on Friday evening, the Collegiate All-Star Rodeo will ignite the weekend festivities with action-packed collegiate rodeo competition leading into a live post-event concert by three-time Grammy Award-winning country music icon Brad Paisley, the first of three major concerts throughout the weekend.
“The Collegiate All-Star Rodeo is a natural next step for evolving our new model of events in college stadiums and elevating college rodeo onto a national stage,” said Sean Gleason, CEO and Commissioner, PBR. “The combination of the highest level of rodeo competition, an iconic venue, and world-class entertainment will provide unprecedented exposure to collegiate rodeo athletes. This landmark event with Learfield College Rodeo will serve as the perfect prelude to the PBR Teams season, setting the tone for a fun, action-packed weekend.”
The Collegiate All-Star Rodeo will showcase two teams of 30 rodeo athletes each exclusively representing the 19 Learfield College Rodeo partner programs from North and South regions, bringing together the best of the best from collegiate rodeo competition. Teams will be selected and coached by legendary rodeo figures Joe Beaver and Sid Steiner (North) as well as Trevor Brazile and Dale Brisby (South). The official rosters will be revealed in June following the conclusion of the spring collegiate rodeo season.
